Geert de Haas became president and CEO of Gyricon Media Inc., an independent organization resulting from a Xerox spin off, in June of 2001. Previously, he was an angel investor in the company.

Prior to joining Gyricon Media, De Haas was an entrepreneur with a successful record of positioning and stabilizing fledgling companies. He started and became the owner of New Ventures B. V. in 1998 and was also the owner of De Haas Holding B.V. prior to that, which was a company that held controlling equity positions in existing production and service companies. Felicitas, a subsidiary of the Gillette Company, was one of the companies that he restructured, which grew to 1,100 employees from 300 under his leadership.
He then sold the company to VNU.

Prior to joining the Gillette Company, De Haas worked in finance as a financial manager at the foreign
office of FGH Bank and he started out at a group of accounting/consulting companies that included PricewaterhouseCoopers in Amsterdam.

De Haas is a graduate of the University of Tilburg in Holland, where he received a degree in economics and he also studied at the University of Amsterdam, where he received a degree in philosophy.
